Professor Mark Auslander (Ph.D) teaches Anthropology and African & Afro-American studies at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He has done research in southern Africa and in African-American communities in the Deep South, including Newton County, Georgia. With his students he has done community history projects on African American history in Oxford and Covington, Georgia. He is a member of the board of directors of the Newton County African-American Historical Association.
